Serving the communities of Circle Pines, Lexington, Lino Lakes & Centerville
The Centennial Girls Basketball teams, freshman-varsity, will be hosting the event, Playing for a Cure, on February 17th, 2012 starting with the freshman game at 4:00 at Centennial High School. The Cougars will be playing Armstrong for the last regular season home game. This game will be a fundraising event for the Play4Kay initiative. We would like youth coaches, players, family, friends and the community come to the game and wear pink. We will have a variety of pink items for sale with all proceeds going to the fund.
The Play 4Kay initiative, part of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund is a unified effort of a nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness and funds for cancer research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond!
The late Kay Yow, former North Carolina State University head women’s basketball coach, served as the catalyst to this initiative after her third recurrence of breast cancer in 2006. Since its inception, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund has allocated $2.3M in research grants to nationally, renowned cancer centers.
The annual CBA Board meeting and elections will be held on February 12th at 7 pm in the Circle Pines City Hall.
